Wexford TD Mick Wallace has warned that families in County Wexford are facing another miserable Christmas ‘because of the Grinches in the Dail.’

The Independent TD, who topped the poll in the Wexford constituency back in 2011, also said that he is not surprised by the fact that Labour and Fine Gael have dropped in recent opinion polls.

The Irish Times / Ipsos MRBI poll, which was released yesterday, showed that Labour had dropped to 6% and that Fine Gael had dropped by 5% to 19%; it’s lowest rating since 2003.

Wallace went on to say that his office is ‘inundated with heartbreaking cries for help from Wexford people, who find themselves in all sorts of financial difficulties. Families who can’t afford the extra power to plug in their Christmas tree lights; never mind buy presents for their kids. And all this Government of Grinches want to talk about is an economic recovery that most people in Wexford can’t see, and plough ahead with the incompetent, crony-led, bonus-hungry quango that is Irish Water.’
