Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow rainfall warning for counties across the south and east of Ireland. Up to 40 mm of rain is expected, with a risk of spot flooding.

Met Eireann has issued an Orange Alert for the Bank Holiday weekend, warning of over 70mm of rain and possible localised flooding, with Leinster expected to be the worst affected.

Temperatures in County Wexford are set to reach up to 24 degrees Celsius as Met Éireann forecasts another day of clear skies and warm weather.

Forecasters are warning that severe thunderstorms will hit the South East of Ireland from midnight, with an 80 per cent chance of intense lightning, torrential downpours, and possible hail.
