Kilrane National School: “Do They Know It’s Christmas?”

Students from the Kilrane National School in Wexford are hoping to raise awareness about the effects of the Ebola virus by creating their own music video for the popular song “Do They Know It’s Christmas?”

Roisin Wafer, who is a teacher at the school, said that the staff and pupils created the music video with the aim of supporting the fight against Ebola. “We had a Christmas No Uniform Day, but because this time of the year is a struggle for many, we didn’t ask the children for a donation. Instead we held a cake sale for the staff at our break and the school will also make a donation to UNICEF to help fight against Ebola. The children had an absolute ball and the memories they will take for appearing in this music video will last a life time.”

People can donate to the Ebola Emergency Appeal by visiting the UNICEF Ireland website.
