Aidan O’Brien steps down as manager of the Wexford Senior Football Team.

Aidan O’Brien has stepped down as the manager of the Wexford Senior Football Team. The Westmeath native, who took up the position two years ago, has cited personal reasons for his resignation.

After his appointment in 2012, O’Brien told the Irish Examiner that “it took a degree of soul searching and had to be weighed up in terms of the personal toll it would take.”

O’Brien’s previous successes include guiding the Wexford Under-21 Footballers to a Leinster Final in 2008, as well as an “All-Ireland Colleges” title, which he won with Good Counsel College back in 1999.

The process of selecting a new manager for the Senior Football Team has begun.
