Wexford’s Metropolis nightclub closed its doors yesterday after over four years of being in business. The popular nightspot, which was situated on Wexford’s North Main Street, made the announcement on its Facebook page.
“It is with great regret that we must inform you, that as of 4:00pm on Friday April 24th 2015, Metropolis Nightclub has closed its doors, and will remain closed permanently.”
The management team also made sure to thank its staff members and its customers; both past and present.
In the past, the premises at Whites of Wexford was home to nightclubs such as The Colony and The Music Factory. However, these too were forced to close, despite their ability to draw in celebrities such as footballer Kevin Doyle and glamour model Abi Titmuss.
Yesterday’s announcement follows the recent closure of another popular nightspot called Chocolate, which stopped trading a number of weeks ago.
