Things for kids and families to do in Wexford

County Wexford offers a wide range of activities for children and families. Below is a guide to several attractions, playgrounds, beaches, and indoor venues across the county.

Wells House & Gardens

Wells House, a large Victorian house, sits on the road between Wexford Town and Ballycanew. Its expansive gardens offer woodland walks, 3D Archery, an Animal Farm, and a children’s playground. Visitors on the woodland walk will find small fairy doors on trees and wooden sculptures of animals and mythical creatures. The Animal Farm contains a donkey, hares, ducks, and other animals.

Playzone

Playzone is an indoor playground in the Wexford Road Business Park in Wexford Town. The play area covers approximately 10,000 square feet and includes multiple slides, an infant play area, and other amenities. Adults can relax at the cafe, which serves drinks and food, including grilled sandwiches, chips, scampi, sausages, and chicken nuggets. Playzone also has a shop and WiFi for visitors.

Redmond Park

Redmond Park lies on Spawell Road in Wexford Town. The park contains an outdoor playground, picnic benches, and open grassy areas for children.

Ferrybank Playground

The playground at Ferrybank is a small outdoor facility adjoining the campsite. It contains swings, a slide, and a seesaw.

Kia Ora Mini Farm

The Kia Ora Mini Farm sits close to Gorey and Courtown. The farm offers several attractions and activities for children:

  • Go-kart tracks.
  • An open farm with bulls, llamas, alpacas, and emus.
  • A pigsty and bird pens.
  • A pond with swans.
  • An outdoor maze and a sand pit.
  • A play area for children under four years of age.
  • A football pitch and basketball hoop.

Pirates Cove
