Authorities lifted swimming bans on four beaches in County Wexford as of today.
They applied the bans at Curracloe, Morriscastle, Cullenstown, and Oldbawn after test samples taken on 3 July found “unacceptable levels” of E. coli.
The restrictions were put in place because E. coli can cause vomiting, fever, diarrhoea, and severe stomach cramps.
Officials took further samples following the results, all of which returned clear results.
All four beaches have regained their Blue Flag status.
