James “Chuck” Connors set to be released on bail

Murder accused James “Chuck” Connors, who is from Drinagh, County Wexford, is set to be released on bail.

Connors stands accused of the murder of Jason Ryan, which occurred on Wednesday, the 25th of January, 2012.

Ryan was pronounced dead after he was stabbed a number of times outside of his home in Hollyville Heights, Wexford.

Connors’ court date had been pushed back to November 30, 2015 because of what the courts called “an unavailability of judges”.

Today, solicitors acting on behalf of the accused applied to the High Court in order to reduce the amount of surety that is required for his release.

In 2009, Connors was sentenced to five years in prison for a brutal assault, in which he repeatedly stamped on the victim’s head.

Connors will be pleading “Not Guilty” to the murder of Mr. Ryan.
