Gardaí carried out searches targeting an organised criminal gang in counties Wexford and Waterford today.
Two women in their mid-40s were arrested during the operation, which involved over 80 gardaí, members of the Criminal Assets Bureau, the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, and garda air support. The Garda Stolen Motor Vehicle Investigation Unit, along with officers from Revenue and Customs, assisted with the operation.
Gardaí have stated that the raids targeted a criminal gang operating nationally and in the south east of Ireland. Gardaí also recovered €75,000 worth of stolen property during the search.
The two women have been detained at Enniscorthy garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
