A male motorcyclist in his 20s has died after his motorcycle crashed on the L4016 near Glenour, Adamstown, at approximately 9.20pm on Friday, 8 May 2026.
The man, named locally as Jack Egan, was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford, where a post-mortem examination was due to take place.

The L4016 was closed on Saturday, 9 May 2026, while garda forensic collision investigators conducted a technical examination of the scene. Local diversions were in place.
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses who were travelling on the L4016 between 9.00pm and 9.30pm on Friday to come forward. They are also appealing to road users with camera footage, including dash cam or mobile phone recordings, to make it available to investigators.
