Cocaine and “house-breaking implements” discovered at Gorey checkpoint

A man in his late 20s has been arrested after Gardaí discovered €30,000 worth of cocaine at a checkpoint in Gorey, Co Wexford.

Gardaí stopped the car the man was travelling in at an Operation Thor crime checkpoint on Wednesday, 24 February.

During a routine search, they found two bags of cocaine. A Garda spokesperson confirmed the items recovered included “house-breaking implements.”

Gardaí arrested and detained him under Section Four of the Criminal Justice Act, and he is to appear at a sitting of the Gorey District Court later today.
