Earlier today, a large fire broke out at a house on Peter Street in Wexford Town.
Reports of a blaze at a house on Peter Street began to emerge at roughly 3.30PM. Members of the An Garda Síochána were quick to reach the scene and cordon off the area.
Two fire engines from the Wexford Fire Service arrived shortly afterwards before bringing the flames under control. The blaze caused extensive damage to the house, as it quickly spread to the wooden beams that support the roof.
As the fire raged on, thick grey smoke filled the surrounding area, making it visible to onlookers as far away as Ferrybank.
Fortunately, nobody was in the house at the time.
