An exciting new competition called “Wexford Has Talent” will kick off in January of next year. Judges for the competition will include:
- Wexford Mayor George Lawlor.
- Hurling legend Tom Dempsey.
- Irish Boxing Coach Billy Walsh.
- South East Radio presenter Alan Corcoran.
- Award-winning singer / actor Tony Carty.
- Former Wexford / Kilkenny hurler David “Stoney” Burke.
Auditions for the show will take place in Whites of Wexford between Saturday, the 10th of January and Sunday, the 11th of January. During these auditions, a shortlist of 24-30 acts will be selected to perform at the semi-finals, which will be hosted in front of a live audience.
Over the course of the two semi final events, twelve contestants will be voted through to the final, where they will get to compete for a cash prize of €2,000.
While speaking about the competition, “Wexford Has Talent” judge Tony Carty said ‘I am delighted to be part of this fantastic event. It is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the great range of talented people we have here in Wexford. We know the competition is going to be tough but all of the judges agree that it is certainly going to be very entertaining.’
