A man had to be airlifted to Waterford yesterday after he fell close to the waterfall at Edenvale in Castlebridge, County Wexford. The man, who is in his 30s, is believed to have fallen and broken his leg.
The Irish Coast Guard helicopter Rescue 117 was tasked to the area at roughly 3PM yesterday afternoon. Emergency services at the scene aided in the man’s retrieval by moving him to an area where he could be airlifted by the helicopter.
Afterwards, he was brought to Waterford Airport, where a waiting ambulance transferred him to University Hospital Waterford.
