A local man in his early 50s has died following a quad bike accident in Curracloe, County Wexford.
The Rescue 117 Coast Guard helicopter from Waterford was called in to help locate the man, who was believed to be on his own at the time of the accident.
Members of the Curracloe Coast Guard Unit and the Gardaí also assisted with the search, which took place yesterday evening after he had been reported missing.
He was discovered with fatal injuries and later removed to University Hospital Waterford.
The accident occurred at the popular Ballinesker Beach area of Curracloe.
