A masked man attempted an armed robbery at the Barrack Street post office in Wexford Town this morning.
At 10am, the man entered the post office carrying a long-barrelled weapon. He made off with a bag, but nothing of value was taken.
A spokesperson for An Post confirmed that a security incident had taken place at the premises. Gardaí are investigating.
The man was wearing a dark blue hoodie and was approximately 5 foot 3 inches tall. He was seen outside the post office before the incident.
