Paul Kehoe: “No plans for cuts to Wexford General Hospital.”

Wexford Fine Gael TD Paul Kehoe has stated that there are no plans to cut trauma services in Wexford General Hospital. A spokesperson for the Junior Defence Minister said that Kehoe has received assurances from Health Minister Simon Harris that there are no plans for cuts to services in Wexford.

The statement comes in response to yesterday’s front-page article in The Sunday Business Post, which stated that an upcoming report by the Trauma Steering Group will recommend that trauma services be removed from Wexford and eight other hospitals around the country.

Kehoe also stated his belief that there will be no emergency department closures in any of the hospitals around the country.
