Paul Kehoe: “No plans for cuts to Wexford General Hospital.”

Wexford Fine Gael TD Paul Kehoe has stated that there are no plans to cut trauma services at Wexford General Hospital. A spokesperson for the Junior Defence Minister said Kehoe has received assurances from Health Minister Simon Harris that there are no plans for cuts to services at the hospital.

The statement comes in response to yesterday’s front-page article in The Sunday Business Post, which reported that an upcoming report by the Trauma Steering Group will recommend removing trauma services from Wexford and eight other hospitals around the country.

Kehoe also said he believes there will be no emergency department closures in any hospital around the country.
