Bart’s cancer charity, which organises the “Walk With Us” event, is warning people in County Wexford about fraudulent door-to-door callers after a number of its sponsorship cards were stolen.
It is believed that some of these cards are being used by unscrupulous people that are calling around to houses and pocketing the money for their own personal gain.
By law, all door-to-door callers are required to carry a permit. Members of the public are being advised that they should ask to see the caller’s permit if they are unsure about their intentions.
