Bart’s cancer charity, which organises the Walk With Us event, has warned people in County Wexford about fraudulent door-to-door callers after several of its sponsorship cards were stolen.
The charity believes scammers are using some of these cards to visit homes and keep the money for their own gain.
By law, all door-to-door callers must carry a permit. Members of the public should ask to see a caller’s permit if they are unsure about the caller’s intentions.
