The Wexford County Council are asking the public to exercise caution at piers, harbours and other coastal areas. The warning comes on the back of a Status Yellow weather alert, which was issued by Met Éireann this morning.
According to forecasts, wind speeds in coastal counties are expected to reach between 44 and 55 km/hr, with gusts of up to 80km/hr. As midnight approaches, these wind speeds are expected to increase.
The Wexford County Council have said that strong winds and high seas are expected to continue until Friday morning. As a result, piers and harbours may be exposed.
