Prostitution ring uncovered in Wexford

One man has been arrested following the discovery of a “temporary brothel” in Wexford Town.

The brothel, which was situated in the quiet residential area of Parnell Street, was uncovered following a raid by the An Garda Síochána. Two men and three women were discovered at the scene.

The gardai were tipped to the location after former Wexford Town councillor Joe Ryan received a complaint from a local resident.

According to Ryan, who spoke to the Wexford People newspaper, “there was a foreign man involved and he couldn’t properly pronounce the number 1a, which is where the brothel had been set up.” “Men were knocking at the wrong doors looking for the women they had made appointments with.”

The three women, who were asked to leave the area, had been advertising their services on a website called “Escort Ireland”. The listings, which included specific times and dates, also included locations such as New Ross and Gorey.

During the raid, a BMW and a bag containing money was confiscated. The man in question has since been released and a file has been sent to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
