Wexford hurling legend tackles vandal on South Main Street.

Wexford hurling legend Larry O’Gorman lept into action on St. Stephen’s Day when he apprehended a vandal that was causing trouble on Wexford’s South Main Street.

According to one onlooker, the vandal, who had been drinking at a nearby pub, was hitting parked cars, kicking shop windows and waving around a cement block that he had picked up.

O’Gorman, who was a part of the Wexford team that won the All-Ireland Hurling Championship in 1996, was driving through the area at the time when he spotted the man.

Upon realising that the man intended on causing damage, O’Gorman jumped out of his car and asked him to stop. The man in question then proceeded to throw the block that he was carrying at the front window of fashion boutique Louaine.

After the block was thrown, Mr O’Gorman apprehended the vandal and held him up against a van until members of the gardai were able to reach the scene.
